One of Threadless’ current design challenges is for the National Parks and I couldn’t be more thrilled. I have so many ideas, I don’t even know where to begin! If only the challenge lasted longer than 21 days 🙂
Here is the first (of probably many) submissions…
I wanted to play with some simple linework and loved trying out new, hand-drawn textures. This design features a bear and owl (obviously) hiking along in the woods. I was inspired by my hiking trips to Shenandoah National Park (my absolute favorite place in the world) and the animals that I have seen there. We have seen a number of black bear wandering the park and the last time we were there, a crazy HUGE owl flew right up to the car on the side of the road as we were driving down Skyline Drive. It was the most amazingly beautiful bird I have ever seen.
